Job Description Summary This individual leads team members to identify, manage, and execute the plants process improvement opportunities. Manages production staff to attain production and quality goals. Identifies problems or bottlenecks in production processes and resolves issues. Ensures production resources including materials, equipment and human resources are available as needed to maintain production schedules. Supports continuous improvement goals in safety, quality, cost and customer service. Responsible for managing and owning various functions of the business and creating an engaged and team oriented work force in order to improve business results. Job Description Identify problems or bottlenecks in production processes and resolves the issues.  Provide resources to position the team for success, including materials, equipment and human resources as needed to maintain production schedules.  Facilitate collaboratively on continuous improvement goals in safety, quality, cost, and customer service.  Oversee various functions of the business and maintain an engaged and team-oriented workforce to improve business results.  Function as a good corporate citizen, a partner in improving our sustainable responsibilities, and a supporter of the local community.  Participate in a training process that develops new Operations Team Leads into leaders capable of taking on future advancement opportunities within our growing company.  Help lead, teach and foster our World Class Safety/Wellness Culture, which helps us recruit and retain a talented workforce.  Help team members develop personally and maximize self-work to identify, manage, and execute the plants process improvement opportunities.  Empower the talent of production staff to attain production and quality goals.  Supervisory Responsibilities:  Supervises 20-30 employees in the areas of Production.  Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation for this unit.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.  Basic & Preferred Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A.) from four-year college or university; or three years related experience.  Language Skills                                                                  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.   Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.  Mathematical Skills                                                         Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.   Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.  Reasoning Ability                                                             Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.   Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.  Computer Skills                                                                 To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of manufacturing software; MS Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.  Physical Demands  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
