About the Role
As a Senior Block Advisors Accounting Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records for our clients. With your advanced bookkeeping skills and experience, you will handle complex financial transactions, prepare detailed reports, and ensure compliance with financial regulations. You will provide comprehensive bookkeeping and payroll services to Block Advisors’ small business clients, including precise recording of financial transactions, financial statement generation, sales tax filing, and bank reconciliation. Partner with Tax Advisors to deploy an effective two-way referral method to assist in the overall development of the business services client base serviced by Block Advisors.
Accurately process various forms of financial information and materials, ensuring compliance with relevant reporting requirements
Perform complex accounting tasks, including detailed data entry, comprehensive bank reconciliations, and advanced payroll management
Assist in the preparation and review of tax return data, ensuring timely and accurate submission to the Block Advisors Fulfillment Network
Conduct thorough reconciliation of accounts, categorizing transactions appropriately and resolving any discrepancies
Compile and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
Address and resolve client accounting irregularities, providing expert advice and exceptional customer service
Partner with Account Managers and Tax Advisors, providing advanced bookkeeping and payroll information to support the delivery of various services
Assist in client service coverage as needed, ensuring consistent and high-quality service delivery
Communicate effectively with account managers, clients, suppliers, vendors, and banking contacts to ensure seamless service delivery
Identify and generate growth opportunities for Block Advisors, enhancing client retention through strategic referrals and partnerships
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
3 years’ Work Experience
Advanced bookkeeping practices, generally accepted accounting principles and procedures
National Bookkeeper and Payroll certifications from the National Bookkeeping Association or ability to successfully obtain certifications
Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and Open Office experience
Ability to multi-task in multiple window applications
Proficient with bookkeeping software, spreadsheets, and database management. Ability to adapt to new tools and automation
Analytical and detail oriented
Good verbal and written skills
Client Services experience
Ability to complete assigned projects on time with minimal supervision
Ability to correctly interpret and apply complex instructions, policies and regulations
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's degree in a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience
