Overview Department: Wound Care  Shift’s Available:  Days  Employment Type: Full Time  Hours: 8hrs  Location: Dallas Regional Medical Center – Mesquite, TX We are seeking a Wound Care RN, which is also referred to as a Wound Care, Ostomy, or Continence Nurse (WOC). The Wound Care RN will specialize in assessing and treating skin breakdown and wounds in a clinic setting. As a Wound Care Nurse, you will also be consulted during a patients stay in a hospital for a wound or pressure injury, we are also consulted for ostomy care. The Wound Care RN will also be responsible for determining the proper course of treatment and interacting with services in the community to continually care for the wound care patient.    Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):  Assess and document the condition of patients' wounds and evaluate the effectiveness of wound treatments  Apply dressings and treatments to wounds, ensuring proper techniques to promote healing and prevent infection  Provide comprehensive patient care, including both inpatient and outpatient wound ostomy and hyperbaric treatment  Educate patients and their families about wound care techniques and prevention strategies, teach proper care for ostomies and how to manage continence issues  Regularly track the progress of wound healing, modify care plans as needed, ensure follow-up care, and support post-discharge, and provide emotional support to patients managing chronic wounds or ostomies  Implement infection control measures to prevent the spread of infections within the hospital, educate staff on proper wound care protocols and internal policies when needed   Stay up to date on the latest wound care techniques, products, and research; participate in continuing education and professional development activities  Interact with community resources to ensure continuity of care  Clinic nurses provide hyperbaric therapy to appropriate patients (RN training for hyperbaric therapy is provided)  Here are some of the benefits of working at Prime Healthcare:  Health, dental, and vision insurance options  Paid vacation, sick time and holidays  Bereavement leave, FMLA and other leave options  Employer 401K options  Tuition reimbursement options   Life, disability, and other insurance options  Many other amazing benefits  Full benefits at Prime Healthcare: https://www.primehealthcare.com/careers/benefits/   Qualifications Must have current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the state. BCLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred. Previous Wound care knowledge and or experience preferred (1 Year). Wound Care Certification within first year of hire Wound, Ostomy, Continence (WOC) Certification preferred.
