Job Description Saint Luke's East is now seeking a Pharmacy Intern Year 1 to join their team! MO Pharm Intern License required
1 weeknight shift per week (after school) and 2 shifts every other weekend.
The Opportunity:
A year 1 Pharmacy Intern, under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, performs all accountabilities associated with compounding, dispensing, charging, and delivery of medications to the patient. All activities are reviewed and validated for accuracy by a pharmacist, per the rules and regulations of the State Board of Pharmacy, in an effort for the individual to gain practical pharmaceutical experience in preparation for licensure as a Pharmacist. Currently eligible for a pharmacy intern license through acceptance into an accredited school of pharmacy or pharmacy early assurance program or a pharmacy tech license.
The Work:
Pick, fill and deliver medication orders and Omnicell stock to appropriate locations
Fill first doses for new orders for patients
Prepack drugs and compound medications including sterile products, chemotherapy, and special dosage forms (topicals, oral liquids, etc.)
Answer the phone/ front window, and assist with questions and requests
Complete projects as needed that improve service and/or safety
Complete clinical student intern duties commensurate with pharmacy school education.
