Managing Director, Banking (Account Growth and Advisory)

Unlike a traditional business development role focused on net-new logos, this position emphasizes growing existing client accounts by uncovering business challenges, developing strategic account plans, and aligning West Monroe's technology capabilities to deliver measurable value. Key Responsibilities Client Development & Commercial Growth Serve as a trusted advisor to banking clients by understanding their strategic priorities and aligning West Monroe's technology capabilities to solve business challenges. Identify and pursue opportunities to expand West Monroe's footprint within existing client accounts. Develop and execute strategic account growth plans that deepen client relationships and increase revenue. Connect client needs with West Monroe's full portfolio of technology and consulting services. Achieve individual account growth objectives while contributing to overall Banking Practice revenue goals. Maintain a healthy pipeline of expansion opportunities through proactive client engagement. Leadership & Collaboration Partner closely with delivery teams to ensure successful project outcomes and exceptional client satisfaction. Collaborate across practices to identify and pursue cross-functional opportunities that deliver comprehensive client solutions. Mentor and develop consultants and emerging leaders while fostering a collaborative, client-centric culture. Influence internal stakeholders to align resources and capabilities with client priorities. Technical Acumen & Thought Leadership Apply strong banking technology expertise to understand complex client environments and recommend strategic solutions. Stay current on emerging trends across banking, fintech, digital transformation, cloud, AI, data, and enterprise technology. Represent West Monroe as a thought leader through speaking engagements, industry events, publications, and client forums. Operational Excellence Meet or exceed assigned revenue growth targets across key client accounts. Support the Banking Practice's strategic growth objectives. Maintain an active pipeline aligned to account plans and client priorities. Ensure opportunities progress efficiently from identification through execution. Qualifications Experience 12+ years of professional experience in consulting, technology advisory, or financial services. Demonstrated success managing and expanding strategic client relationships. Banking industry experience strongly preferred. Technical Expertise Strong understanding of banking technology strategy, enterprise architecture, and digital transformation. Ability to engage executive stakeholders while confidently discussing complex technical concepts. Commercial Leadership Proven track record of growing existing client accounts through consultative relationship management. Experience developing account strategies and driving revenue expansion. Strong business development and executive relationship management skills. Leadership Experience leading cross-functional teams in a consulting environment. Ability to influence senior executives, delivery teams, and internal stakeholders. Demonstrated success coaching and developing talent. Communication Exceptional executive presence and interpersonal skills. Ability to simplify complex technology concepts for business audiences. Strong presentation, facilitation, and storytelling capabilities. Education Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, or a related field required. Based on pay transparency guidelines, a reasonable expectation for the salary range for this role is listed below. Information on our competitive total rewards package, including our bonus structure and benefits is here .  Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.​ Employees in proximity of our Seattle, Washington DC, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco offices will have a geographic premium applied to this salary scale.  Employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance.
