As the nation ’ s premier home leasing company, we need dedicated, organized, and detail - oriented accounting professionals with an entrepreneurial spirit to provide   timely   and   accurate   financial information to our shareholders as well as to our partners in the field and at our corporate offices.     We are   seeking   a dynamic Property Accounting Manager to lead a   high-performing   team   responsible for   the   review ing   and analyz ing   the preparation of financial results for   approximately   10 0,000   single-family   rental   properties   across multiple   portfolios . Other responsibilities include   maintaining   the integrity of the general ledger, working with other departments to understand the ir   business   unit s   and impact on the financials, and   collaborating   with other teams within the Accounting Department to ensure   timely   delivery of financial   statement s .       The ideal candidate is a strong accounting leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, brings a continuous improvement mindset, and is passionate about developing talent.     E s s ent ia l   Job   Duti e s   a nd   Res p on s i b i l i ti e s   Lead , motivate, and develop   a team of accounting professionals   by providing coaching, training, and mentorship through the hiring of top talent .   Oversee the   month-end close   process, ensuring   deadlines are met   while ensuring   accurate   and   timely   preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements .   R eview   and approve   work completed   by accounting associates for accuracy and completeness   in accordance with   established policies and procedures.   Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Asset Management, and other stakeholders to understand business drivers and their impact on financial results   Drive process optimization and scalability,   identifying   opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, and controls in a high-volume environment   Support   internal   and external   audit   requests , including   SOX Compliance, Internal Controls , and annual financial statement   audits .   Participate in Company-provided training.   Perform   other duties as assigned .     E duc a ti o n   a nd / o r   Ex p e r i ence   Bachelor’s   degree in accounting or related field is   required .   5 years of experience in accounting and financial statement preparation is   required . Property Accounting experience is preferred.   5 + years of supervisory experience is   required .   Intermediate Excel   expertise   required ; Yardi experience a plus.   Experience working with high volumes of data .     S k ill s / Spec ializ ed   Kn o wl e dge   Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced dynamic environment.   Ability to lead and develop a team.   Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities including the ability to   identify   and implement best practices that improve the team’s effectiveness and efficiency.   Ability to make decisions and drive results.   Ability to perform advanced mathematical and accounting functions.   Ability to follow and apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).   Ability to read and   comprehend   financial statements.   Strong customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to relate to others.   Professional verbal and written communication skills .   Ability to set and meet goals   and   consistently meet deadlines.     Other   Requ i r e m en t s   Must   maintain   professional appearance.   Ability to be at work on a regular and consistent basis;   o vertime may be   required   for this position.     Phys i cal   and Mental   De m a n d s   This position will   spend   long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. The position may also entail light lifting of supplies and materials occasionally, up to and including 20 pounds in addition to   re ac h i ng,   st oo p i n g, standing, and walking . Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.
