At Sage Home Loans, we're building the next generation of mortgage banking.
Today, our business is centered on delivering a best-in-class digital mortgage experience for conforming 30-year fixed mortgage originations. As we continue to grow, we're expanding into mortgage servicing and additional lending products, creating new opportunities to serve homeowners throughout their financial journey.
We're seeking an experienced FP&A Manager to partner directly with the CFO and senior leadership to help shape the financial strategy of a rapidly evolving mortgage company. This is more than a traditional budgeting and forecasting role—you'll help build the financial infrastructure, analytical capabilities, and decision-support processes needed to scale multiple lines of business.
The ideal candidate combines strong financial planning expertise with deep knowledge of mortgage banking economics and enjoys solving complex business problems in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
What You’ll Do:
Strategic Planning & Forecasting
Partner with the CFO to lead the annual budgeting process, long-range strategic planning, and rolling forecasts.
Develop executive-level financial reporting, dashboards, and KPI scorecards for senior leadership.
Build financial models that support strategic decision-making, capital allocation, and business planning.
Perform scenario analyses and sensitivity modeling to evaluate market conditions, interest rate changes, and strategic initiatives.
Support Board reporting, Executive Leadership presentations, and investor-related financial analyses.
Mortgage Finance & Business Analytics
Develop profitability models across mortgage products, origination channels, and future servicing operations.
Analyze production volume, gain-on-sale margins, pull-through rates, pricing, customer acquisition costs, and operational efficiency.
Build financial models supporting the company's expansion into mortgage servicing, recurring revenue streams, and additional lending products.
Partner with Capital Markets, Secondary Marketing, Servicing, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Product, and Technology teams to evaluate business performance and identify opportunities for growth.
Monitor key mortgage banking metrics and proactively identify risks and opportunities impacting financial performance.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership
Serve as a trusted financial advisor to department leaders across the organization.
Translate complex financial information into actionable business recommendations.
Coach and mentor junior analysts while helping establish best practices for financial modeling, forecasting, and reporting.
Drive continuous improvement through automation, process enhancements, and scalable FP&A practices.
What We’re Looking For:
Required Qualifications
3–6 years of progressive experience in FP&A, Corporate Finance, Strategic Finance, or related finance roles within the mortgage banking industry.
Demonstrated experience supporting mortgage origination businesses with a strong understanding of production metrics, gain-on-sale economics, pull-through, pricing, and profitability drivers.
Advanced financial modeling skills with exceptional Excel proficiency.
Experience developing executive reporting, forecasting models, annual budgets, and long-range financial plans.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize large amounts of data into meaningful business insights.
Outstanding communication skills with experience presenting financial information to executive leadership.
Proven ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships and influence decision-making.
Ownership mindset with a commitment to delivering accurate, thoughtful, and actionable financial analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting mortgage servicing operations or developing financial models for Mortgage Servicing Rights (MSRs).
Understanding of servicing economics, MSR valuation concepts, servicing profitability, and recurring revenue models.
Experience working with warehouse lending, mortgage capital markets, or secondary marketing.
Familiarity with multiple mortgage products, including Conventional, FHA, VA, Jumbo, HELOC, or Non-QM lending.
Experience in a high-growth, private equity-backed, or rapidly evolving financial services organization.
Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Snowflake, Adaptive Planning, Anaplan, Pigment, or similar FP&A technologies.
Success in This Role
During your first year, you will:
Build trusted relationships across Finance, Sales, Operations, Capital Markets, Marketing, Technology, and Executive Leadership.
Improve forecasting accuracy and enhance executive reporting.
Develop scalable financial models that support both mortgage origination and servicing businesses.
Establish KPIs that improve operational and financial decision-making.
Help build the financial planning processes needed to support Sage's continued expansion into new products and recurring revenue businesses.
