It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence. Description of Work The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for delivering quality comprehensive nutritional assessments and follow-ups for individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or complex behavioral challenges. This role requires strong time management skills and the ability to work independently while maintaining an assigned caseload. The Dietitian actively communicates and collaborates with other members of the interdisciplinary treatment team to ensure coordinated care. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the Dietitian participates in departmental quality improvement initiatives. Miscellaneous duties may also be assigned as part of the role, requiring flexibility and a proactive approach. The working hours for the Clinical Dietitian are generally Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Salary Range: $52,848.00 – $79,272.00 Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs )/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred: Considerable knowledge of currently accepted principles and practices of nutrition and dietetics. Considerable knowledge of diet therapy and disease.  Ability to assess, design, and implement nutritional care plans for individuals.  Skill in teaching, diet counseling and communicating such as patient education.  Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships as well as the ability to work independently. This Position Is Designated As Mandatory And Must Report Or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events.
