Brief Description The General Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the organization’s accounting processes in accordance with GAAP. This role contributes to the monthly close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and compliance, while ensuring the integrity of financial data and supporting business decision-making.
This role works closely with both Finance and Operations to ensure accurate data, timely reporting, and visibility into manufacturing performance. The position focuses on data accuracy, analysis, and execution, while helping identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Essential Functions Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
Support the month-end close process, ensuring deadlines are met and results are accurate Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts
Assist with preparation of financial statements and internal reports
Analyze financial data and provide variance explanations
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed
Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all accounting activities
Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and reporting efficiency
Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
Assist with cycle count processes, including coordination with operations and review of count results
Support the excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory review process, including data preparation and analysis
Investigate and help resolve discrepancies in inventory, production, and cost data
Prepare and distribute routine reports to support operations and finance teams
Assist with documentation and improvement of accounting processes and reporting tools
Perform other duties as assigned. Performs daily review and reporting of inventory and labor activity
Provides actionable analysis to identify and reduce Job Order Variances
Makes assessments and recommendations based on review and analysis of variances to standards
Resolves problems in an expeditious fashion
Guides manufacturing in performing routine cycle counting activity and audits results
Supports maintenance, review, and updates of standard costs
Other duties as assigned
Desirable Capabilities and Success Factors Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2–5 years of general accounting experience
Knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.)
Strong Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, data analysis)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Effective written and verbal communication skills

Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000 annually
The salary range provided is intended to display the value of the company's base pay compensation for this position. Salary is dependent on a multitude of factors, including but not limited to the physical worksite location, the geographic market of that location, candidate's skill set, level of experience, education and internal peer compensation comparisons among other potential factors.
